OUR PRACTITIONERS

“I believe that the key to restoring and maintaining health lies in the principle of discovering and treating the root cause of disease and/or symptoms. I listen, empower, support, teach and guide patients through the therapy process and through diet and lifestyle changes. The combination of the therapies that I practice allows me to go in through multiples doors and treat all of the aspects of a person – the physical, the physiologic, the emotional and the energetic. I believe that this is how medicine and the ‘path to wellness’ should be practiced”.

JENNIFER LEWIN

Jennifer Lewin, LAc (USA) is a US trained and Licensed Acupuncturist and Herbalist, Functional Practitioner and US Certified Integrative Manual Therapist. Jennifer has over 20 years of clinical experience working in both the US and Hong Kong using a unique mix of Functional Medicine, Acupuncture, East-Asian Medicine, Western Herbal Medicine, Nutrition, dietary and lifestyle changes, Integrative Manual Therapy and body-based Psycho-Emotional techniques to treat all types of acute and/or chronic conditions based on the combination of modern scientific and integrative medicine diagnostics.

The over-riding theme that brings together all of the therapies that Jennifer practices is the principle of finding and correcting the underlying root causes of pain, signs, symptoms and/or disease. Jennifer does this through uniquely combining her approaches.

Functional Medicine utilises objective blood markers and lab testing, along with history and sign/symptoms, to identify nutritional deficiencies, food intolerances/allergies, gut infections and overall gut health, detoxification problems, toxicity loads, inflammatory and/or auto-immune status, blood sugar imbalances, genetic pre-dispositions, hormonal imbalances, and more. Jennifer uses nutrition, dietary and lifestyle changes, supplements and herbal medicine to correct imbalances that are identified.

East-Asian Medicine assesses and treats the body’s meridian system, Qi and blood flow, organ systems, emotional energies, and the principles of 5 elements and yin/yang. The goal is to find the imbalances and bring the system back to homeostasis.

Integrative Manual Therapy (IMT) is a structural hands-on approach that employs gentle manipulative techniques to re-align and correct joints, muscles, blood flow, cranial (brain) dysfunction, visceral (organ) dysfunction, nerve impingements and/or restrictions, lymphatic flow, fascial restrictions, and/or other restrictions to restore the physical body to pain-free optimal movement and function.

In Singapore, Jennifer practices a needle free Japanese style of Acupuncture and Dry Needling based on the patient’s needs. Japanese Acupuncture stems from the same ancient Chinese texts as does Chinese Acupuncture, but the Japanese system puts emphasis on different passages of these texts. The Japanese style, in general, is a ‘less is more’ approach with some unique diagnostic methods. Jennifer was drawn to this style of Acupuncture during her Master’s Degree, as it gets profound results from a gentle approach. It is also ideal for patients who are sensitive to needles.

Jennifer holds a Master’s degree in Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine from the New England School of Acupuncture in Boston and graduated with honors. She trained with leading Japanese Acupuncturists in the US during her time in Boston. Jennifer is a certified practitioner of Integrative Manual Therapy (IMT) from the Connecticut School of Integrative Manual Therapy in the US. She spent over a decade under the direct mentorship of Dr. Sharon Weiselfish-Giammatteo, the founder of IMT. Jennifer has spent the past 15 years studying Functional Medicine with various leaders in the field in the US. In addition, she has extensive training and experience in the fields of Nutrition, Nutritional Supplements, and Body-Based Psycho-Emotional work.
